BIG HORN OUTDOORS makes one of the more widely sold small pellet ovens, the SRPG18003, and its draw is simple: a stated 460°C from a stainless box that weighs 11.3 kg. It suits a garden cook who likes the idea of wood fuel, wants to fold the legs and stash it after use, and does not mind turning pizzas by hand. The square stone is the other notable detail, since it makes full use of the floor for a 12 inch base.

In its favour
- The maker states 460°C after an 18 minute preheat and pizza in 90 seconds or less.
- A square 12 by 12 inch stone uses the floor fully for a 12 inch pizza.
- Folding legs and tool-free assembly make it easy to set up and pack away.
Good to know
- You need to turn the pizza often by hand, as the maker's own instructions say.
- Warranty is listed as 1 year in the specs but more than 24 months in a bullet, so confirm it.
Our take
Temperature, fuel and timing
According to BIG HORN, an 18 minute preheat brings the oven to 860°F, which is 460°C, and pizzas then bake in 90 seconds or less. The maker also lists steaks, fish, lamb chops, burgers, salmon and vegetables as suitable.
The usage notes are honest about technique: slide the pizza in and turn it often. BIG HORN adds that lightly topped Neapolitan pizzas with little sauce work best, which matches how fast, hot pellet ovens behave.
Footprint and build
Amazon lists the size as 54.8 cm deep, 36 cm wide and 73.7 cm high, with the bullet quoting 27.1 by 14.2 by 28 inches. The stone measures 12 by 12 inches. The shell is brushed, coated stainless steel, and the legs fold.
BIG HORN says assembly needs no tools and the oven comes apart quickly for cleaning and storage. The bullet claims a weight of 25 lb, which lines up with the 11.3 kg in the table.
Warranty wording and missing extras
The bullets mention more than 24 months of warranty, while the specification table says 1 year. Ask the seller which applies before you buy.
The included components field reads simply as no, and no peel is mentioned, so budget for a peel and probably a pellet scoop. A cover would also help if it stays outside.
How it sits against close rivals
The George Foreman 12 inch pellet oven is almost the same size and a little lighter, adding a paddle, shovel and carry bag, but it states no maximum temperature. The Jamie Oliver by Tefal gas oven swaps pellets for a gas burner and adds a hand turned rotating stone, at a slightly lower weight.
There is also a near identical BIG HORN listing with a different ASIN in other guides on this site, so compare the two pages before ordering.
Verdict
The BIG HORN OUTDOORS 12 inch pellet oven is a good fit for anyone who wants a stated 460°C and a square stone in a compact, foldable pellet box, and who is happy to buy a peel separately. If you prefer the extras in the box, choose the George Foreman pellet oven, and if hand turning and pellet feeding sound tiresome, the Jamie Oliver by Tefal gas oven is easier going.
