The Carbonio is the largest of Gino D'Acampo's three 14 inch gas pizza ovens, with a carbon-fibre style finish over a stainless steel body. It is for home cooks who find 12 inch ovens too tight and want a bigger stone with gas convenience. A 12 mm cordierite stone, built-in thermometer and folding legs complete the package.

Our take
Stone, heat and timing
Gino D'Acampo lists a premium 12 mm cordierite stone, which is the one stone thickness given across the 14 inch ovens in this range. Setup and heat time are quoted at 15 minutes, and pizzas at 90 seconds, credited to heat retention and design.
The listing gives no maximum temperature and no burner detail, which makes direct comparison with ovens that quote 500°C harder. The built-in thermometer at least lets you see when the oven is ready.
Size and set-up
Amazon lists the Carbonio at 75 x 50 x 35 cm and 18 kg, with one heating element and folding legs. That is larger than the Modena and Vesuvio, which share a 65 x 44 x 35 cm body. Assembly is required according to the specs.
The included components are listed as the gas oven only. There is no mention of a regulator, hose or peel, so plan to buy a UK propane set and a 14 inch peel.
Warranty and finish
A 2-year manufacturer warranty is listed, which is a year more than many portable ovens. The carbon-fibre finish is the main visual difference from its siblings, along with the extra width. The handle and frame are listed as stainless steel.
With retro styling and a matte black body across the range, the choice between the three Gino ovens comes down mainly to size and looks rather than cooking hardware.
Carbonio, Modena or Igneus
The Modena shares the 14 inch stone and 18 kg weight in a smaller body with an Italian flag stripe. The Igneus Classico steps up to a 60 x 60 cm wood-fired floor for two pizzas and a stated 500°C, at 45 kg. The Carbonio is the pick for the biggest gas oven body in this set.
Verdict
Choose the Carbonio if you want a 14 inch gas oven with a thick stone, built-in thermometer and two years of cover, and you have table space for its 75 cm body. If you prefer a more compact footprint, the Modena does the same job. If you want to bake two pizzas at a time over wood, the Igneus Classico is the bigger option.
