Pizza size comparer
Enter the diameter in inches and how many pizzas are in each set. The comparer works out the total area of both and the difference.
In short
Area = π x (diameter ÷ 2)². One 16 inch pizza is 201.1 sq in, but two 12 inch pizzas are 226.2 sq in, so two 12s give about 12.5 % more pizza than one 16.
Compare two sets of pizzas
Set A
201.1 sq in
1,297.2 cm²
Set B
226.2 sq in
1,459.3 cm²
Set B gives 12.5 % more pizza (25.1 sq in more).
1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 sq in = 6.4516 cm². Areas are for flat round pizzas, rounded to 0.1.
